The Open Window on the Rolls Royce Wraith

After I left my friends house in Geneva I got on the bus to ride to the train station. While passing the Mont-Blanc bridge I looked out just as the bus was passing the 4 Seasons Hotel. There standing in front of the hotel was the Rolls Royce Wraith. Since me and my friends already got to photograph the Phantom and the Ghost that day I was keen to get some pictures of the Wraith as well. Once I got out of the bus and walked to the Wraith I noticed that one of the Windows was open so I went to find one of the hotel's employees. Once I got the hold of one I told him about the Window and he was shocked to hear the news. Right away he got the keys and we went over to the Wraith only to find that it didn't open. The employee was a bit confused and then I realized that there was a Rolls Royce Phantom parked just three cars away so I mentioned it to him. He then went inside to get the right keys. Once he got them he closed the window and said thank you to me. Sadly he didn't offer me a free night in the hotel or something like that ;)

The Rolls Royce Wraith was launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013 and sports a twin turbo V12 engine putting out 632 PS and it features an 8 speed automatic transmission. Otherwise there is not much needed to say about the car and it's performance because the true beauty lies in the inside, besides the body which is also stunning of course. When I went to the Geneva Motor Show this year I had the amazing opportunity to get to sit in the Wraith and I have to say it is absolutely incredible! To see more of the inside you should head over to the Rolls Royce website though because I didn't get the opportunity to take pictures of the inside when I was in the city.

Ferrai 458 Speciale

Last Tuesday I went into the city with two of my friends, Philipp and Fabio, to hang out and see what was driving around. Besides seeing 5 Rolls Royce (I'm going to do a post on the Wraith which we saw next), a couple of Bentleys and Maseratis and other nice cars we also came across one of our all-time favorites: the Ferrari 458 Speciale.

The 458 Speciale from Ferrari is a truly exceptional car. To start things off the 458 Speciale is based on the 458 Italia just that the Speciale has some body features which makes it lighter and lends it better performance. It also holds a 35 Hp power increase. The Speciale is powered by a naturally aspirated V8 which boasts a total of 562 HP which propels it from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3 seconds flat. But the power from the V8 doesn't end there, it keeps pushing the Speciale to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 9.1 seconds. Some more differences between the 458 Speciale and the regular 458 Italia are the two vertical flaps in the front of the car. At speeds below 170 km/h (106 mph) the flaps are closed to make sure the engine is nice and cool, but as soon as the car reaches speeds above 170 km/h the vertical flaps open to decrease drag. Then if you take a peek around the back of the car you will discover that there is a set of horizontal flaps which at speeds above 220 km/h (137 mph) lower to balance downforce between the front and rear axles. The horizontal flaps are able to be lowered by 17°.

Now I can't make this post without telling you a little story about my friend Fabio. Last weekend Fabio's neighbors had a birthday party for their child. At one point someone pulls up in a Ferrari 458 Speciale and, needless to say, Fabio rushed outside to check it out. Once outside he started taking pictures when all of a sudden the woman driving the Ferrari asked him if he wanted to have a look inside and start the engine. Of course he jumped at the opportunity and turned on the 458 Speciale and he says it was absolutely amazing. I have to say that I'm extremely happy for Fabio that he had this special opportunity, although I can't say that I'm not jealous :) And in the end I truly am in love with this car and wished I had one in my driveway as well! Below are some pictures of the one Philipp, Fabio and I saw in the city.

Matte White Lamborghini Aventador

So I was in the city a bit ago when I came across this spectacular Aventador. Personally I love the matte white detailing on the Aventador although not everyone is such a big fan of it.

The Aventador has a 6.5 liter V12 engine putting out entire 700 PS. It has a carbon fiber monocoque and aluminum front and rear frames. The V12 engine propels the Aventador to 100 kmh (62 mph) in just 2.9 seconds and then keeps accelerating to a top speed of 350 kmh (217 mph). The base price of the Aventador, according to Wikipedia, is $393,695.

Lamborghini has gone on to produce a limited number of special edition Aventadors to honor the 50th anniversary of Automobili Lamborghini, the LP 720-4 50°. There where 200 cars made: 100 coupe and 100 roadster. The 50th anniversary edition has a 20 PS power increase, but with power comes price and in this case it's a $106,300 increase from the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster, which puts the LP 720-4 50° at $548,00 base price.

Anyway here are the pictures of the Aventador I saw:
