The i8 has Finally Arrived in Geneva

The i8. One if BMWs newest creations and one of the best looking ones as well. Not only that, but it's a hybrid as well! And who doesn't love to do something good for the environment?

The last time I saw an i8 was in Hamburg at the airport last Sunday, when I was flying back to Geneva and other than that I've only seen them at some other airports, like Frankfurt, but never on the streets, so, naturally, I'm quite excited about this one. Hopefully there will be more around soon, because these cars are just stunning.

BMW launched the i8 in June, 2014. The i8 is a plug in hybrid which, according to BMW, only uses 2.1 liters of fuel for 100 kilometers, which is about 112 mpg. Other than that the car is powered by a 1.5 liter twin turbo 3 cylinder gasoline engine, combined with an electric motor, putting out a combined 362 horsepower, letting it get up to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds.

The interior of the car is also beautifully designed and you have the feeling that it really keeps the driver in mind. There are six paint jobs available, although they all look very similar. The seatbelts in the interior of the one I saw where dyed in the same electryfiyng blue as the exterior paint job, which really contrasts nicely. Even better, the car's doors open up, giving the i8 another bit of special attention, although it's not exactly hard to pick out of the crowd with it's wavy and futuristic design. The car's only real downfall is the price, on average customers paid $ 136,650, which is quite a bit, considering that a Tesla Model S costs a lot less and is fully electric, but luckily someone bought it already and is letting me get my shots in and as long as it stays that way I'm happy ;)
